One more thing, about school supplies you need to buy for the kids.
They had a list of must-have supplies in the paper Tuesday: high-tech backpacks designed for smart-phones and tablets, high performance brightly colored running shoes, noise canceling headphones…
No wonder average back to school spending on children in grades kindergarten through 12th grade - including clothes - is $688, up 14 percent from last year.
It wasn't always that way.
Maybe that's why total spending nationwide for grades K-12 will be $30 billion, up 33 percent from last year.
I remember getting all those nice, clean, notebooks with new separators and vowing every fall to reform and stay neat and organized all year.
