Police have arrested a teenager and a man after a fight between the two led to a stabbing and an arson early Tuesday, August 7, 2012, Nassau cops said.

Suave Pereira, 18, and Howard Brigham, 57, fought at their house in Oceanside, police said. Brigham rents an apartment in the house of Pereira's family.

Brigham is accused of taking a kitchen knife and stabbing Pereira numerous time, police said.

Pereira, in turn, is accused of going to a nearby gas station to buy a cigarette lighter and gasoline and then torching Brigham's side of the house, police said.

But it is not clear if the alleged stabbing or the alleged arson happened first.

Police arrested Pereira and charged him with second-degree arson.

Authorities charged Brigham with second-degree assault and fourth-degree possession of a dangerous weapon.
