State police: 1 dead, 1 tied up in Conn. home

SHARON, Conn. (AP) - State police are trying to determine what led to fatal shooting during a home invasion in Sharon.

Police tell the Republican American newspaper the victim was a 24-year-old man who appeared to be targeted by the gunman.

He was found shot to death Monday night inside the home on Cornwall Bridge Road. Another person was found tied up, but otherwise unharmed.

The home is located in an isolated area along Route 4 in the Ellsworth section of Sharon, near Cornwall and the New York state line.

The newspaper says the home is owned by a family that owned a local farm and sells fruits and vegetables from a renovated barn near the home.

The names of the victims have not been released.
