Police still searching for Troy father, waiting for DNA results

TROY, Mich. (WJBK) -

The oldest child of 55-year-old Patrick Mikes returned to her family's Troy home and left with some belonging declining to comment on the trauma her family is going through.  Neighbors say the 24-year-old has not lived at the house for several years, but she appeared to stay overnight on Sunday.

Meantime, investigators quietly continued their search for the body of Mikes' in undisclosed locations.  A search on Friday in the rural community of Montrose and in the Flint River turned up nothing.

Police are telling us they could soon have enough evidence to charge Patrick Mikes, Junior with murder.  As we've reported, a large amount of blood was found in the basement of the family's home.  They're waiting for DNA test results to come back to confirm whether that blood was from Patrick Mikes, Senior.

21-year-old Patrick Mikes, Junior was due in court Monday for a pre-exam conference, but that was rescheduled for August 13.  He is out on $50,000 bond accused of stealing his younger brother's credit card.

Police say the Norte Dame student home on summer break was seen on surveillance video buying cleaning supplies, and they believe he lied when he told investigators his father disappeared during a bike ride July 27.

A pile of carpeting now sits in the driveway of the family's home possibly from evidence removed by police.

One neighbor told Fox 2 off camera if the 21-year-old is guilty, she doesn't believe this was premeditated.
