TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Motorists are finally seeing stable prices at the pumps in New Jersey.
AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of regular gasoline in New Jersey on Friday was $3.49, the same price as last week. And that's still less than the price from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.67.
Meanwhile, the national average price rose 8 cents to $3.57. But that's lower than the national average from a year ago, which was $3.70.
The stable gas prices in New Jersey end a four-week stretch where prices had been on the rise. Analysts say the higher prices have mostly been due to global economic concerns and simmering tensions in the Middle East.
