Protesters gather at Belle Isle to fight the proposed 99 year lease to the state of Michigan.

The protest was led by some members of the Detroit City Council, including JoAnn Watson and Kwame Kenyatta. They argue that leasing the island to the state is giving up on a city gem.
"The state can partner with the city, but it shouldn't be a parent for the city. We are fully grown and can handle our own business," said council woman JoAnn Watson.

Beginning with the 3:07 p.m. departure from Grand Central Terminal, Metro-North will operate about half of the regular eastbound PM peak service and regular hourly westbound service with the 4:23 PM train from New Haven.
