Dunkin Donuts employee assaulted in robbery

Long Island police are investigating an armed robbery and assault at a busy Dunkin Donuts.

Police say two men entered a Dunkin Donuts at 219 Hempstead Tpke. in Elmont and walked up to the cashier demanding money.

One of the men punched the employee and put him in a headlock while the other pointed a gun at the victim.

The employee gave the suspects an undisclosed amount of money from the register and the two ran down Warwick Rd. to 106th street.

Nine customers and three employees, were in the store at the time of the robbery.

The employee had a bruised jaw but didn't want medical attention.  No other injuries were reported.

Both suspects are described to be black, wearing sunglasses and light blue Kangol hats.

One suspect is 5'10" with a stocky build and was wearing a white t-shirt.

The other suspect is 6'1" wearing a blue bandana on his face and a number 60 Dallas Cowboy football jersey blue with white numbers.
