Search for serial robber

The NYPD is looking for a suspect wanted in connection with 16 robberies on Manhattan's Lower East Side over the past two months.

Police say the man approaches his victims displaying -- or pretending to have -- a knife or firearm. He then demands their personal property.

The suspect has robbed people of their wallets, cell phones and iPods.

There have been no injuries.

The last robbery occurred on July 27.

The suspect is described by police as Black, 30-40 years old, approximately 6' tall with a thin mustache and thin beard.

He was last seen wearing a gray hoody, gray pants and black sneakers.
