Sam Wohabe, of the Upper East Side, is a budding star in the culinary word -- and he's just 9 years old.

In August, Sam will be dining with Michelle Obama at the White House after one of his recipes was selected in a contest focusing on healthy lunch, DNAinfo reported. The dish is called Fish Fueled Pepper Rocket with Kale Chips and Quinoa. His recipe was selected as the best in New York State.

He will be going to Washington, D.C., for a kids' state dinner hosted by the first lady.

"Chef" Sam Wohabe and reporter Amy Zimmer talk about the news.
