A Spanish tourist was reportedly attacked by a stranger with a hammer Monday in City Hall Park.

The Daily News reports that Hugo Alejandre, 31, is hospitalized and recovering from a fractured skull after the random attack.

The paper says John Yoos, 43, is under arrest.  He was reportedly wearing a suit when he walked up to Alejandre and smashed him in the left side of his forehead with the claw side of the hammer.

Witnesses reportedly held Yoos until police officers arrived.
