Grocery retailer Trader Joe's has issued a voluntary recall of certain food products over a possible risk of listeria contamination.
A food supplier informed Trader Joe's of the possibility that several foods containing diced onions could cause food-borne illness.
The affected food products include some pre-made salads, a barbecue chicken salad, and a fresh salsa.
"In accordance with our stringent health and safety standards, and as an extreme precaution, all of the potentially effected products have been removed from sale and destroyed," Trader Joe's said in a note on its website. "To date, we have received no reports of illness related to these products.
The company advises consumers who has purchased the specific products listed to not eat them and to return them to any Trader Joe's for a full refund or dispose of them.
