SOUTH AMBOY, N.J. (AP) -- Rescuers managed to nudge a 20-foot long Minke Whale out of shallow waters in New Jersey.

The whale was spotted near South Amboy on Sunday morning.

Director Bob Schoelkopf of the Marine Mammal Stranding Center tells The Star-Ledger of Newark it took firefighters and the Coast Guard nearly four hours to lead the whale into deeper waters.

Schoelkopf says the whale did not appear to be harmed.
