The Belt Parkway has been reopened after the Mill Basin Drawbridge's deck has been lowered Friday afternoon, the Office of Emergency said on Twitter.

Once side of the bridge had been jammed in a raised position after a malfunction.

While the bridge was stuck, NYPD highway units reportedly backed cars down the part of the bridge not affected by openings.

A line of cars was seen trapped on the highway with nowhere to go.

The Department of Transportation reported that the bridge lost electrical power and a contractor was notified to come fix the problem.
