A Long Island teenager shined a laser into the cockpit of a Suffolk County police helicopter Tuesday night, authorities said.
The helicopter was conducting a search when the officers saw the green laser and sent a patrol officer the laser's origin in Brentwood, police said.
Police investigated and determined that a 14-year-old boy has aimed the laser. Police released him into his mother's custody.
He has not been charged at this time, but police and the FBI are investigating if the boy is responsible for other recent laser incidents, authorities said.
