Nets and Knicks to face off in Brooklyn for season opener

New York is going to get a treat for the start of the NBA season.

The Brooklyn Nets will host the New York Knicks for their first regular season game of the 2012-2013 season, Newsday reported.

The game is scheduled for November 1 and will be televised to a national audience on TNT.

This will be the first regular season game in the Barclays Center, the Nets' new home arena in Downtown Brooklyn.

The entire 2012-2013 schedule will be announced on Thursday at 7 p.m.
