The 6th annual Bicycle Balloon Race is taking flight at the 75th Warren County Farmers' Fair in New Jersey.

It was 12 years ago when the first hot air balloon festival took place at the fair and it has become a staple.

The hot air balloon festival will have many pilots and will run for 8 days this year.

The Bicycle Balloon Race was born 6 years ago, bringing back an old race from Bloomsbury, N.J.

The charity race consists of a hot air balloon taking flight with a bicycle attached to the outside of the basket. After the balloon crosses a line, the balloon will drop off the cyclist who will take their bike and race back to the fair.

One of the pilots taking flight for the race will be Michael Glen from Roswell, New Mexico, who will carry his own set of the wheels on the balloon.

Two months after turning 21, Glen was involved in a single car rollover the injured his spinal cord and paralyzed him from the waist down.

The injury did not stop him for becoming a hot air balloon pilot and now at 31, Glen is the first paraplegic hot air balloon pilot in the world.

The fair will run from July 28th to August 4th, while the Bicycle Balloon Race will take place on August 1st.
