A pair of 14-year-old boys is accused of vandalizing the shrine at the Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception in New Lebanon, N.Y.

The New York State Police say that a church volunteer noticed damage in the shrine on Route 20 on Monday and called police.

A trooper followed a lead and arrested two 14 year old New Lebanon boys.

Police say that overnight, the teens ruined over 80 candles, stole change from a reflecting pool and damaged the offering box in an attempt to steal the money inside.

The boys were released to their parents after their arrests.  They face larceny and criminal mischief charges.
