A Peekskill woman is facing charges in connection with the death of a teenager who died of an accidental drowning.

New York State Police say that Rosa E. Saquinaula, 32, works at the Valentine Grocery store in Peekskill.

Police say that on Saturday evening she sold four 24-ounce cans of Four Loco alcohol to 18-year-old Santiago Mendia.  Police say that she did not ask for any identification from the teen.

Witnesses told police that Mendia appeared to be intoxicated when he was last seen later that night.

Mendia was found dead in a pond on Monday morning.

An autopsy performed by the Westchester Medical Examiner's Officer indicated that Mendia died as a result of an accidental drowning.  Toxicology results are still pending.

Any one with information about Santiago Mendia from Saturday night is being asked to call the State Police at 914-788-8044.
