College student killed by NJ Transit bus

Police say that a New Jersey Transit bus hit and killed a college student.

Essex County College student Deshon L. Johnson, 22, of Montclair, was rushing to catch the 709 bus to get to his job on Wednesday morning when an NJ Transit bus hit Johnson at Broad Street and Bay.

He was pronounced dead at 10:54 a.m.

No charges have been filed at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
