Schools chancellor discusses test scores

New York City public school students in grades 3 through 8 made gains on the annual math and English exams, the city said this week.

On Wednesday, GDNY spoke with Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott about the good news and the bad: The numbers still aren't all that high. Only 47 percent of 3rd through 8th graders are proficient in English and 60 percent are proficient in math.
