Dozens injured in fire near Yankee Stadium

Fire officials say 31 firefighters and three civilians suffered minor injuries in an overnight fire at a six-story building in the Concourse section of the Bronx.

The six-alarm fire broke out shortly after midnight Wednesday at 975 Walton Ave. near Yankee Stadium.

More than 200 firefighters battled the blaze during a hot and humid night.

The blaze was brought under control just before 4 a.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Red Cross responded to the scene and registered 40 families for emergency shelter or food.
