The Port Authority has opened the upper level of the George Washington Bridge after a vehicle accident caused closures.
A tractor-trailer flipped over and lost its container, blocking several lanes and prompting the shutdown while crews work to clear the problem.
Traffic on the New York City-bound upper level was backed up at least 90 minutes, according to MetroTraffic, and traffic on the lower level was also affected.
The lanes were cleared within a few hours but the traffic effects lasted well into the evening.
