Rockville principal arrested

Posted: Updated:

Rockville High School's principal has been placed on administrative leave following a drunken driving arrest.

The Journal Inquirer of Manchester reports Eric Baim was stopped by police after allegedly running a red light on the Berlin Turnpike in Berlin early Friday morning.

The 37-year-old Bristol resident faces a July 27 court date.

School Superintendent Mary Conway says Baim informed her of his arrest and was placed on administrative leave while the Board of Education decides how to address the issue.

Baim served as assistant principal at the school for three years before being appointed principal in June 2009.
