NYPD seeking suspect wanted in 5 subway robberies

Posted: Updated:

NEW YORK (AP) - The NYPD is seeking the public's assistance in locating a suspect in connection with five robberies in the subway system.

Police say the first robbery occurred May 25 on a southbound No. 3 train. The suspect and an accomplice robbed a rider of his cell phone after threatening to shoot him.

Three other robberies were committed in June, two on one day. The last robbery occurred July 2 inside the 145th Street and Lenox Avenue. The victim was robbed of an undermined amount of cash.

Police say the suspect is in his early 20s of slender built, has brown eyes and is about 6-feet tall.

His alleged accomplice, Bruce Williams, was arrested July 3 on charges of robbery and criminal possession of stolen property. Information about his lawyer wasn't available.
