Christie kicks off 'endless summer tax relief tour'

MANASQUAN, N.J. (AP) -

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is taking his demand that the Legislature cut taxes to the Jersey Shore.

Christie plans to begin what he's calling the "endless summer tax relief tour" Monday afternoon in Manasquan.

The Republican wants the Democrat-led Legislature to commit to cutting residents' taxes starting in January.

Democratic lawmakers say they'll agree to begin phasing in a 10 percent property tax cut if the state can afford it.

At issue is a partisan disagreement over the state's fiscal condition.

Christie says "the Jersey Comeback" has begun.

Democrats say there's no evidence Christie's economic agenda has helped New Jersey rebound from its economic slump.
