Storms cause morning commute delays in Conn.

Posted: Updated:

Storms and flash flooding in parts of southwestern Connecticut on Sunday led to some delays for commuters Monday morning.

Metro North officials were using busses to get passengers from New Canaan to Stamford and around a downed tree and wires near the Talmadge Hill station.

The Department of Transportation had reopened stretches of Interstates 95 and 84 that were closed Sunday night by flood waters.

Lightning from the storms also was being blamed for starting a condominium fire in Danbury and a barn fire in Bethany. No serious injuries were reported.
