The crash sent one officer, who had to be airlifted, to Stony Brook University Medical Center with a cut to his head and injuries to his back and shoulder. The second officer was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was treated for back, neck and shoulder injuries. The officer was later released.
