MYFOXNY.COM -

Representative Charles Rangel (D-NY) personally thanked voters for his recent election win Saturday.

Rangel defeated state senator Adriano Espaillat by less than a thousand votes.

The race was so close to call, Espaillat challenged the vote count in court, but the final tally still showed Rangel ahead.

According to political experts, the 82-year-old Rangel is nearly assured to win a 22nd term in November.
