Three people were the victims in two separate hit-and run incidents that left two of the victims dead in the Bronx.
The first hit-and-run happened on Friday night around 11:20 p.m. when police received a call of a bicyclist struck near Webster Avenue and Gun Hill Road.
Police say 18-year-old David Ellis was traveling northbound on Webster Avenue when he was struck from behind by 2001 Nissan Maxima. Ellis was thrown into the southbound lane of Webster Avenue and struck by an oncoming Ford Explorer, operated by a 46-year-old male.
The unidentified driver of the Ford Explorer stayed at the scene but the driver of the Maxima and his passenger, abandoned the car and fled.
EMS arrived at the scene and took Ellis to Montefiore Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Ellis was a Jamaica High School senior and a football star that was being recruited by several colleges.
A short time later, police were called to a report of two pedestrians hit by a vehicle near East 170th Street and Grand Concourse around 12:17 a.m.
Police found two victims, a 42-year-old male and a 34-year-old male, lying on the ground with severe body trauma.
According to police, the two men were crossing the Grand Concourse from East to West when they were struck by a 2011 Honda CRV, operated by 37-year-old male.
The Honda was traveling Northbound on the Grand Concourse and after hitting the two men, the unidentified driver continued to travel Northbound on the Grand Concourse making a right turn onto Mount Eden Avenue before he stuck an EMS vehicle responding to the scene of the accident.
Police were able to arrest the driver of the Honda and charges pending.
EMS was able to arrive at the scene and took both men area hospitals. The 42-year-old victim was taken to Bronx Lebanon Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The 34-year-old victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital and is listed in critical condition.
Authorities have been no arrest(s) in regard to the David Ellis incident and the investigation is ongoing.

Authorities have made no arrests and are still investigating.
