One More Thing: No thanks to big billboards on Mag Mile

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

This is fine for cluttered, crumbling New York, but it's not a good look for our great city of open vistas and elegant architecture.

The proposal would allow places like Water Tower and the Shops at North Bridge to put up digital signs up to a thousand square feet.

The signs couldn't be more than 80 feet off the ground, and they'd be only able to change images every twenty minutes.

But those restrictions wouldn't be enough to turn the glitzy malls of Michigan Avenue into tacky towers.

Just look right now at Ontario and Ohio Streets between Michigan Avenue and the Kennedy.

Gradually, it's been looking more and more like Las Vegas around here.
