One more thing about the heat wave

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

One more thing, about something that helped me get through the heat wave last week.

Every year for a long time now, I've mentioned on various broadcasts that holiday greeting cards would make more of an impact in the middle of summer than in the crush and rush of Christmas time. A nice note of good cheer really stands out in July.

And many of you always remember.

When you get cards like this in December, they get lost in the clutter of letters, bills, catalogs, and junk mail.

There's always too much to do in too little time, and sometimes nice cards get barely a glance before getting thrown out.

But this month when I got these wishes for health, happiness, and peace on Earth on cards with winter scenes, it was really special.

It means a lot more when not everyone is doing it.

So let me say to you, may all the joys of this season be yours throughout the year.
