Bob Bashara has been ordered to stand trial in the alleged murder-for-hire scheme involving Joe Gentz, the man charged with killing Bashara's wife.
Bob Bashara has been ordered to stand trial in the alleged murder-for-hire scheme involving Joe Gentz, the man charged with killing Bashara's wife.
The lawyer representing a handyman charged with strangling a Grosse Pointe Park woman says her client has been found mentally competent to stand trial.
Joe Gentz's attorney, Susan Reed, on Monday confirmed the finding of a court-sanctioned independent evaluation.
Gentz previously had been determined competent to stand trial by doctors at the state forensic center.
He's charged in the death of Jane Bashara, whose body was found in her Mercedes-Benz in Detroit in January. He's charged with murder and conspiracy.
Gentz did odd jobs for the victim's husband. Bob Bashara is not charged in his wife's death, but does face charges that he tried to hire a hit man to kill Gentz in jail.
