PHOENIX -

The man accused of abusing his daughter, who was found dead in a locked box is back behind bars.

52-year-old David Deal was arrested Friday night on charges related to the abuse of his 10-year-old daughter, Ame Deal, who died inside a padlocked box back in 2011.  Shortly after his initial appearance in court, he was released without bond.

On Monday, a Maricopa County grand jury indicted Deal on felony child abuse charges.

Phoenix Police Sgt. Trent Crump says a warrant was issued for Deal's arrest with a $250,000 cash only bond.  He was arrested again Monday night as he was driving away from his home in a loaded U-Haul truck.

Crump expects Deal to be transferred over to the Maricopa County Sheriff's jail.

Six family members have been arrested in this case -- they're accused of locking Ame in the box as punishment for taking a popsicle.

Ame's cousins, aunts and grandmother have also been charged.  The cousins, Samantha and John Allen are facing the death penalty for allegedly locking Ame in the small box she died in.

It could be months or years by the time these family members go to trial because of the charges and how complex this case is.

This is a developing story.  Stay with FOX 10 News for updates.

A NYPD plan intended to better connect with the community seems to have backfired a bit. The police department asked its twitter followers to share pictures of themselves with New York City police officers using the hashtag "myNYPD." Some did share nice pictures, but others not so much. Some of the first pictures posted showed regular citizens standing with very friendly looking police officers.
