Teen shot and killed in N.J.

An 18-year-old girl was shot and killed while walking down a street in Linden, New Jersey, according to the Union County Prosecutor's Office.

Amber Wilson, a recent graduate of Linden High School, exchanged words with someone as she was walking from a Dunkin' Donuts. She was robbed and then shot, said Prosecutor Theodore Romankow.

Police responding to reports of an argument and gunfire found Wilson dead on the 500 block of Hussa St. at about 11:55 p.m. on Monday.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the shooting contact the Union County Crime Stoppers hotline at  at (908) 654-TIPS, via the Internet www.uctip.org, or text UCTIP plus a message to 274637.

Information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for Wilson's death are eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
