Brooklyn mom attempts suicide after killing her son

Police say a Brooklyn mother tried to kill herself after she killed her son Friday night. 

40-year-old Tenika Revell called police around 11:00 p.m. to 374 Marcus Garvey Boulevard in the Bedford-Stuyvesant saying she killed her 7-year-old son Bernard Revell and had taken pills.   

Police arrived to find her son son unconscious and unresponsive with trauma to his head.  

EMS were called to the scene and pronounced the boy dead upon arrival. 

Revell was taken into custody and was admitted to Woodhull Hospital for further evaluation.  

Revell has been charged with Murder in the second degree, Manslaughter and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
