The family of a little girl killed when a yacht capsized during an Independence Day outing is setting up a memorial fund in her name.
Mike Della, attorney for the family of 8-year-old Victoria Gaines said they formed a trust fund to help the family with expenses that have occurred with the tragedy.
Gaines, 12-year-old Harlie Treanor and 12-year-old David Aurelino were trapped in the cabin of a 34-foot yacht when it flipped and sank on July 4th following a fireworks ceremony in the waters off Oyster Bay.
David Aurelino's wake will be held at the Brueggemann Funeral Home in East Northport on Saturday and Sunday, with funeral services to be held at St. Paul's Methodist Church in Northport on Monday.
Harlie Treanor's wake will be held Sunday and Monday at M.A. Connell Funeral Home in Huntington Station. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday.
Police and U.S. Coast Guard officials may not raise the submerged boat until Tuesday.
