Police in Newark, N.J. were investigating the murder of a taxi driver early Saturday.
It happened at 605 Mt. Prospect Ave. Police responded to the scene to find the driver shot several times.
The unidentified man was shot in the head and chest. His car was still in drive when he was shot and it crashed into several cars before coming to a stop.
People heard the commotion and rushed to rescue the driver but it was too late.
There have been no arrests. No other details were immediately available.

A couple was found shot dead inside a park in Montclair, N.J. Police say they were responding to calls about shots fired when they discovered the bodies of Shanae Q. Howard, 24, of Orange and Brandon Brown, 26, of Montclair. The couple were found near a bench in Canterbury Park at around 10 p.m. on Thursday. A weapon was recovered at the scene.
