A Staten Island woman who works as a teacher in Brooklyn was found stabbed to death in her own home Thursday, police said.

The husband of Simeonette Mapes, 29, found her on the floor of their apartment in the New Springville section of the borough, the AP reported.

She had been stabbed several times, police said.

The apartment was in disarray, the Staten Island Advance reported.
