DETROIT (WJBK) -

The whole thing was caught on camera.  A thief broke into a Detroit beauty supply store and stole thousands of dollars in high-end weave, but it wasn't easy.  He broke in through the other side of the wall and crawled in through a small hole.

It started with a small vibration on camera.  That was a thief hammering his way through the drywall at JJ Beauty Supply on Detroit's east side.

The thief appears to be a man.  He tried to crouch low and avoid the cameras, but then got bold, standing up and swatting the expensive weave on the high racks, carrying out everything he could grab.

Then he came back for round two, once again going for the Remi Velvet hair weave.  He made a mad dash to the end of the store to steal clippers.  The thief knew exactly where they were like he had been there before.  He never went for the cash register, but what he stole was worth much more.  An employee estimated around $5,000 to $10,000 retail.

Police arrived on the scene, but the thief was gone in ten minutes. It's not the first time this
store has been robbed.
