Move over Staten Island Chuck -- there's a new star at the zoo.
Liberty, a bald eagle, has landed. A symbol of beauty, grace, and patriotism, Liberty arrived just in time for Independence Day.
The 7-1/2-pound bald eagle lost her left wing after flying into a transformer and had to have her wing amputated.
She'll be rehabilitated at the Staten Island Zoo, which agreed to accept the eagle because of its ability to accommodate her in a more suitable exhibit space.
Cathy Eser, a supervisor at the zoo, speaks about the eagle.
