Report: Scientologists spying on Katie Holmes

Posted: Updated:

Scientologists have reportedly staked out the New York City apartment of Katie Holmes after the actress filed for divorce from actor and scientologist Tom Cruise.

There were spies from the controversial church in front of her Chelsea apartment Sunday watching her every move, reports the NY Post citing sources.

On Sunday, a white Cadillac Escalade was parked outside Holmes' home all day and the individuals in the car were taking photographs of people coming and going from the building. The men were reportedly from the Church of Scientology and have caused Holmes to become very frightened, added the Post on Monday.

Police checked out the car, but could not take action because Holmes did not report it. Holmes has told her building security about the situation.

The main reason behind the spying may be Holmes and Cruise's daughter Suri, 6.

Holmes reportedly filed for divorce over concerns about Suri now that she is of the age where the Church of Scientology would educate her and indoctrinate her into the religion.

The wife of Jason Lee of hit TV series, 'My Name Is Earl,' told reporters she was spied upon after filing from divorce from the devout scientologist.
