Long Island woman struck by lightning

East Islip, NY (AP) -

An 18-year-old Long Island woman was injured after being struck by lightning over the weekend.

According to Newsday (http://bit.ly/LKBbC9 ), the woman was struck at Heckscher State Park in East Islip around 6 p.m. Sunday.

George Forman, deputy regional director for New York State Parks, says the unidentified woman was taken to a hospital; her condition wasn't immediately known.
