The NYPD is collecting fireworks in Brooklyn a few days away from the Fourth of July.

The Brooklyn District Attorney's office and the NYPD have joined forces for Fireworks Amnesty Day.

Hundreds of people handed over their illegal fireworks to the 62nd Precinct on Bath Avenue in Bensonhurst – no questions will be asked.

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly says it's an effort to prevent injuries during Fourth of July celebrations Wednesday.

All fireworks were accepted and police say no one was charged.
