A Brooklyn filmmaker noticed something off about a subway staircase and turned his observation into a video that has gone viral.

Dean Peterson, whose interests "include but are not limited to: coffee, Siberian Huskies and David Bowie," shot a video of person after person tripping on the same step in a staircase at the 36 Street Station on the D, N, and R lines in Brooklyn.

Title cards of his short film claims the step is a "fraction of an inch higher than all the others" and that makes it "just high enough so that EVERYONE trips on it."

Peterson uploaded the video to Vimeo on June 27 and by the afternoon of June 29 had been viewed more than a million times.

The MTA issued a statement about the video, saying "The staircase will be repaired and ready for service tomorrow morning."

Peterson said on his Twitter feed that he has been interviewed by several news outlets, including CNN and the New York Times.
