DETROIT (WJBK) -

DETROIT (AP) - A man in his 20s has been killed in an ambush-style shooting at a west Detroit gas station.

Police tell The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press the shooting happened at a Mobil station before 3:50 a.m. Friday. They say the victim was sitting in his car when someone opened fire from behind.

The victim drove away from the station after being shot and was found dead nearby.

Police say the two male shooters fled on foot.

Police are reviewing the station's surveillance cameras.

This shooting continues a recent spate of violent crime at Detroit gas stations that includes the fatal shooting of a customer and the carjacking of national gospel singer, the Rev. Marvin Winans.

Anyone with information in Friday's fatal shooting should call Crime Stoppers at (800) SPEAK-UP.
