Laser cellulite procedure

Cellulite: Women hate and there hasn't been a lasting way to treat it. Now some doctors are zapping it with a revolutionary new treatment called Cellulaze.

Dr. Barry Dibernardo, a plastic surgeon, is one of the doctors working on the newly FDA approved Cellulaze -- a $6,000 procedure that melts and reshapes the so-called cottage cheese that affects mainly women.

Dr. DiBernado says it is a laser that breaks up the cellulite by zapping its structure.

He says the patient is awake for the procedure and under local anesthesia. Bruising from small incisions can last a few weeks.

Don't expect insurance to cover it.
