Lightning strikes church on Staten Island

Lightning hit a Staten Island church during morning services on Monday. A string of severe storms were moving across the area at the time.

Dozens of firefighters responded to St. Anthony of Padua Church on Victory Blvd.

The priest says he was in the middle of celebrating Mass when he heard crackling. After the service he went outside to see that someone had called 911.

There was smoke coming out of the steeple.

The FDNY came and quickly put out the fire. No one was hurt.
