Severe weather is making its way through the tri-state region.

Hail and damaging winds are in the forecast.

Some storms have died down while others will likely pop up throughout the day, reports NY Weather Authority Shay Ryan.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the tri-state area until 2 p.m.

Wind gusts up to 70 mph and hail are possible.

The region experienced drier weather over the weekend following severe rain that knocked out power from Connecticut to southern New Jersey on Friday.
