Police in New Jersey were working Monday to identify a man who was found wandering naked through the woods covered in mud.

He was spotted at around 12:00pm local time Sunday in a wooded area near a highway on-ramp in Mahwah, Bergen County, NJ.com reported.

He had no signs of head trauma or injury but was unable to tell police who he was or where he was from, Mahwah Police Chief James N. Batelli said.

Officers found clothes that may belong to the man in the woods, but no identification.

He is being evaluated at Bergen Regional Medical Center, according to NJ.com.
