MYFOXNY.COM -

A newspaper delivery truck was severely damaged after it was too tall for an underpass in Central Park Sunday afternoon.

The truck was making deliveries to the Gay Pride Parade when it hit the historic 96th Street transverse around 1:30 p.m.

The stone arch sheered off most of the truck as the driver was going underneath.

A bright yellow sign at the transverse stated the clearance was nine-feet, eleven inches but the truck was 13 feet and six inches.

Police said no one was hurt in the accident.
